Compared to lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries, LiFePO4 batteries offer an alternative when large discharge currents, short charging times and high cycle stability with somewhat lower energy density are required.
IFR 14500J lithium iron phosphate LiFePO4 battery (positive terminal elevated, unprotected).
High safety: Due to the solid electrolyte and cell chemistry, LiFePO4 cells are considered intrinsically safe.

Safety instructions:
Lithium cells may only be operated with protective electronics!
Please note that lithium cells may only be used by competent persons.
Incorrect handling or short-circuiting can lead to fire or explosion.
Other features:
Lithium iron phosphate batteries are thermally stable and are not subject to memory effect.
They work on the basis of lithium and are characterised by a high energy density.
Technical Data:
| Charging current Normal | 0.5C 250mA 3h |
| Charging current Fast | 1C 500mA 1,5h |
| Operating temperature Charging | 0 °C – 45 °C |
| Operating temperature discharging | -20 °C – 60 °C |
Notes:
A special charger is required for charging lithium batteries, which charges the batteries according to a special charging procedure. (CCCV = constant current, constant voltage.) The batteries must not be charged above a voltage of 3.65 volts, otherwise there is a risk of fire and explosion. It is advantageous to charge the batteries only up to approx. 3.5 volts, as this significantly increases the service life or the number of charging cycles (possibly up to double). Only lithium chargers with a charge of up to 3.65V may be used for charging. e.g.: XTAR VP2, XTAR SP1, XTAR WP2H, Nitecore D4,
Furthermore, rechargeable batteries and batteries do not belong in household waste! Please dispose of them as prescribed by law at the municipal collection points or in the [usually green] containers provided by retailers.
